Product Designer

The Project

Gbemidebe has emerged as a groundbreaking service in Lagos, Nigeria, transforming the way people access food, groceries, and package delivery. Launched in response to the increasing demand for convenience, speed, and efficiency in daily services, Gbemidebe is bridging the gap between consumers and vendors with its innovative delivery solutions. The name "Gbemidebe," meaning "Show me the way" in Yoruba, captures the essence of the company’s mission – to make everyday essentials available to customers with just a few clicks.

The Problem

How can we make ordering food easy and enjoyable for busy people?

Our user needs a way to order or schedule food and groceries for home delivery. they want to be able to drive and pick up their order and want to spend as little time as possible waiting at the restaurant.

I chose to focus on multiple use case scenarios. After the project's completion, I thought it would be interesting to design a platform for a food ordering service. I conducted some additional research and made some documentation for future implementation.

Journey Map

I created a customer journey map to better understand the user and inform my design process. To do this, I interacted with a few people to ask how they commonly ordered food and groceries. Surprisingly, many still called or visited their local restaurant and supermarkets directly to place an order because these restaurants weren’t on existing food delivery platforms, but they would prefer being able to order online. I decided to incorporate this into my user journey.

Defined UX Metrics

Once I had a clearer idea of the problem, we were about defining how success would be measured. To do this, we were encouraged to use a combination of user interaction and Google’s HEART framework process to ensure a shared understanding of what success looks like.

Final Design

Till the finish line! I focused on UX design elements for all screens. I added minimal, high-quality images that had ample whitespace for promotional text and added color. I made use of a vibrant Purple that is commonly associated with triggering stimulation and appetite and makes for attention-grabbing branding.

Future

As previously mentioned, I have revised my design approach to the Gbemidebe food ordering app. From here, I would like to dive deeper into creating a seamless and easily understandable tracking process for users to follow their orders.

Post-launch optimization

This is crucial for improvement, With informed, actionable insights, we would be able to design a better experience for users.
